Ahead of this years release of the film “Victoria & Abdul” we visited Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. Much of the film was based on this location, being Queen Victoria’s favourite location, filming took part in the gardens and many of the rooms around the house and some of the costumes used in the film are now on display.
A stunning estate owned now by the English Heritage is a great day out. Visit the children’s Swiss house and garden where they played, the beach where Queen Victoria would take a dip and walk the beautifully manicured Italian gardens.
A Flash Packers Guide to the Isle of Wight can be downloaded from Amazon. Cannot wait for the film release to again see the house and what looks to be a very well depicted moving true to life story.
