Sanur is a lovely quiet town and cheaper in comparison to the west coast strip of Bali; from Kuta to Seminyak. Travel between the two is easy; catch the KuraKura bus, or jump in a metered taxi and it will cost around 130,000IDR. Without the hassle and touts of the more touristy areas, there are still options to book trips; Ubud is a few hours north, and there are plenty of boats. It is the place to catch boats to the Islands or a hire a charter to go fishing or snorkeling for the day (barter your price). The waters along the beach are perfect for swimming and fishing due to the natural reef that sits offshore creating a calm natural bay. Walk along the beach with views of Mount Agung in the distance and see the colorful fishing boats. Sanur has a good choice of places to eat on the road back from the main road, and the famous Hardy’s supermarket. With a good choice of reasonably priced accommodation away from the throngs of tourists Sanur is a popular place for Flash Packers.
