With its beautiful surf beach, picnic areas, cafes and restaurants Lorne really is magical and holds a special place in my heart.  Around a 2.5 hour drive from Melbourne and located on the Great Ocean Road, Lorne is a sleepy town during the winter and swells over the summer period with thousands of ‘Melbournites’ escaping the city lights.

Taking full opportunity of the Labour Day weekend in Victoria last week, my husband and I packed up the car and drove down the picturesque Great Ocean Road with some friends. We had three days of exploring, berry picking, spear fishing, eating, laughing and drinking which we tried to capture as we went.

We tried our luck at spear fishing along the coast between Lorne and Wye River, with the hope we might also find some beautiful crayfish tucked up in the rocks. Spearing crayfish in Victoria is illegal so if you…
