3 months before you go

  1. Organise your passport
A passport is required for any individual travelling from Australia to another country. You may already have an Australian passport. If you do, “you need to ensure that your passport has adequate validity to meet the entry requirements of the country/countries you intend to visit (or transit).”
If you do not have an Australian passport or require a new one it is advisable to begin this process at least 3 months before you go. Passport applications forms can be filled in and printed from here. Application forms are also available from Australian Post outlets, Passport Offices, Australian diplomatic or consular missions and The Australian Passport Information Services (APIS) by calling 131 232 within Australia.
